Last week was World Soil Day - ‘Caring for the Planet starts from the Ground’ Soil is the upper layer of earth, a mixture of organic and inorganic matter, in which plants grow. So many lessons on life chemistry, water and erosion, rocks, compost food webs, so much more, come through our experience with soil. But funds for soil improvement materials and soil testing for our gardens are not yet in our school budget.
Please help your school gardens to have healthier soil to grow healthier, more knowledgeable students. This is just one example of how our SeedMoney funds will be used, there are many more. If you're searching for the equivalent to the sun's rays, LED lights produce the kind of illumination you seek. Even if there's no natural sunlight to be had, you can plug in the right sort of equipment and it will do the job that the sun will perform, helping you raise healthy, mature plants.
