****Watertown Public Schools in conjunction with the School Committee will be holding the 2nd of 3 Community Forums**** When: Wednesday, July 27th Where: High School Auditorium, 50 Columbia Street Time: 7:00pm Whether you have children in the WPS or not, these meetings are very important-decisions coming out of these community discussions will help to create the MASTER PLAN, which all of our future improvements will be based SMMA, an architectural firm specializing in educational facilities, has been hired to evaluate our school facilities given to: *changing educational instructional needs *state/federal mandates *our old, tired buildings *increasing enrollment numbers Some Questions Facing Watertown Residents: *Can buildings be renovated within the same footprint? *Will they require new additions, be retired, or need to be built from the ground up i.e., new construction? Even if we qualify for some state reimbursement the MSBA (MA School Building Authority) a debt exclusion (tax increase) is in our future We need to approach these decisions wisely as a community The education of Watertown's children and the proactive use of our tax dollars, calls for community input and oversight Please do not let your ideas, questions, and concerns go unheard. The children need your help to empower their education and their aspirations; the town officials want and need to hear your input, and I need you to show up, introduce yourself, and be counted as someone invested in the future of Watertown. - Elodia Thomas More information can be found at: https://sites.google.com/a/watertown.k12.ma.us/wps/sc/watertown-high-school-project Questions?
